Christ’s Mission Appeal
Christ’s Mission Appeal gives Catholics in the Diocese of Saginaw an opportunity to offer thanksgiving to God for His indescribable gifts. Your generosity to this appeal allows for the continuation and expansion of a wide variety of ministries to the faithful, while engaging in the work of evangelization.
Your financial support and your prayers for the mission of our great diocese and the 2024 Christ’s Mission Appeal are necessary so that together we will be of “One Heart and Mind.”
Additionally, a portion of every dollar raised supports twelve special campaigns for missions, social outreach and the support of the Vatican. Through the generous funds to Christ’s Mission Appeal, the diocese makes fixed contributions to these campaigns, rather than through second collections at parishes.

Methods of Giving
Periodic Gifts
Periodic gifts may be described as contributions that happen at specific time(s). For instance, a gift may come in the form of a:
• Response to a specific appeal
• Way to honor or memorialize a loved one
• Charitable contribution as part of year-end tax planning
To provide a gift, you may simply put a check in the collection basket or bring a check to the parish office, with the specific fund you wish to support noted in the memo line.
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts may be described as thoughtful gifts of assets, often times over and above what might be donated to the church on a regular basis. Over time, these assets may grow in value and may trigger an expensive capital gains tax when sold. One solution is to give all or part of an asset to the church. By doing so, you benefit by helping others and by receiving a tax advantage. These gifts may include:
• Investment assets like stocks, bonds, and real estate
• Estate plan elements like wills, trusts, and life insurance
To accomplish such a gift, you may need to involve your financial, legal, and tax advisers and complete specific legal forms, listing the church as a beneficiary. For planned gifts, please contact the parish office for details on how to proceed.
