Holiday Outreach Opportunities

What a blessing to be able to lend a hand to neighbors in need during this holiday season! Keep reading to learn more about some wonderful outreach opportunities here at Assumption Parish:

Feed Families for Thanksgiving

Again this year, the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network is requesting monetary donations to purchase food for families at Thanksgiving. They are hoping for our help again with this project. Donations may be made to the parish (please make checks payable to Assumption) or online no later than Sunday, November 23.

Your generosity in helping others celebrate Thanksgiving will be greatly appreciated!

Prison Fellowship Angel Tree

Share the hope of Jesus with a child in the Midland community as you deliver a Christmas present and a personal message of love on behalf of their parent in prison. Prison Fellowship Angel Tree strengthens relationships between incarcerated parents and their children through volunteers like you. It starts with a gift and opens the door for year-round ministry opportunities. This is a new program for Assumption Parish. We are so excited about the doors God will open through this exciting opportunity!

To implement this ministry, we need volunteers to help buy gifts for the children. Visit the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree table starting Saturday, November 15 in the gathering space to take a tag to purchase a gift or to learn more about the program.

We appreciate your support this holiday season.

Christmas Flowers to Homebound

It’s that time of year when we begin to review our list of those to whom we would like to bring a little joy into their lives by delivering flowers for the holidays. If you know of someone who is homebound or if you would like to represent the parish by delivering flowers to someone, please call the parish office before noon on Monday, December 8.

Gift Cards

If you know of any parishioners needing a little help this Christmas season, please call the parish office with the following information: your name, the name of the person/family you are recommending, their address and phone number, along with the number of adults and children in the family. We do have money allotted for gift cards. Please call the office before noon on Monday, December 8.

Sharing Tree

Once again, we are partnering with the Salvation Army and United Way of Midland in the Sharing Tree program to provide gifts to girls & boys, teens, women & men in our community who are struggling. Christmas trees are located in the gathering space. Please stop by and take a tag, shop, and return the gift per the instructions on the tag; gifts need to be returned to the parish by Wednesday, November 26 and can be placed by the sharing tree.
