Stitch & Prayer Spreads Warmth, Comfort & Cheer

December 22, 2025 – On December 8, the Stitch & Prayer group gathered at Assumption to discuss current projects and share a Christmas luncheon. The group has been busy making large fleece blankets, soft baby blankets, quilts, slippers, and hats for all ages to keep the Midland community warm during this snowy season! Items are shared with about 30 agencies, such as the Greater Midland North Family Center (formerly the North Midland Family Center) and the Midland Community Former Offenders Advocacy and Rehabilitation, to be distributed to those in need.

The group is also working on potholders for families in Guatemala. The Stove Team from Blessed Sacrament Church will distribute the potholders during their upcoming mission trip in February.

Stitch & Prayer is an interdenominational group with about 50 members from around the Tri-City area. The group welcomes interested crafters of all skill levels. Their next meeting will take place on January 12, 2026, at 9:45 am in the Assumption Parish hall.

If you enjoy sewing, quilting, knitting, or crocheting and would like to serve the most vulnerable members of our community, we invite you to come meet the group and join in their good work! Please contact Julie Maurer (989-689-0480) or Jean Krause (989-430-2814) if you have any questions.
