Mendelssohn’s Elijah: Two Inspiring Concerts, One Powerful Work of Music

June 5, 2026

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our collaborative performance of Mendelssohn’s oratorio “Elijah.” We were blessed to collaborate with the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw to offer two concerts, May 17 at the Cathedral and May 21 at Assumption Parish, and both received a wonderful turnout.

Here at Assumption Parish, over 150 community members joined us for an evening of powerful music followed by a reception and fellowship. The concert raised $850 in donations to support Assumption Parish Music Ministry.

We are so grateful to everyone who made this event possible, especially Sr. Andrea Marie Lee, music director at the Cathedral, and more than 30 musicians from throughout the Tri-City area who participated! We would also like to thank Bishop Gruss for his enthusiastic support of these sacred music concerts.

Interested in singing with us in the future or want to be informed of future events? Please contact Jim Renfer, Director of Music Ministry at Assumption Parish.
