There’s always something on the calendar at Assumption!
Our parish hosts a number of events throughout the year to bring the Assumption family together and invite the greater community into fellowship with us.
How you can help:
- Extend an invitation: Help us build community by reaching out to a family member, friend, or neighbor and inviting them to come join us!
- Lend a hand: Volunteer opportunities include event planning, set-up and decorating, food and drinks, games and hospitality, clean-up, and more. Help from all ages is welcome!

Neighboring Night
A casual mid-summer gathering, bringing neighbors together for a cookout, bonfire and s’mores, yard games, and family activities on Assumption’s outdoor grounds. Stay tuned for the next date.
Feast of the Assumption & Ice Cream Social
Holy day Mass with the Midland Area Catholic Community, followed by an ice cream social to celebrate Assumption’s parish patronal feast day. Feast day observed on August 15; celebration depends on Mass schedule.
An Evening with Elvis
An entertaining evening with Elvis tribute artist Jake Slater to raise funds for Assumption Parish Youth Ministry. Includes Elvis-inspired hors d’oeuvres and beverages! Stay tuned for the next date.
PolishFEST
An evening of authentic Polish food, live polka music, dancing, games, and family fun celebrating Assumption’s Polish and Slavic heritage. Held annually in mid-October around the anniversary of Assumption’s founding.
Awakened Series
A three-part faith enrichment series with shared meals, short talks, discussion, and reflection focused on the meaning of the Gospel message for our lives here and now. Stay tuned for future dates.
Fall Bazaar
Over 60 craft vendors, plus a bake sale, hot lunch, and raffle for cash prizes and donated merchandise. Held annually in early November.
Big Raffle
Assumption’s new fundraiser raffle to benefit parish ministries and ensure future growth. Open to the community, with a first prize of $10,000! Begins early fall and ends the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Advent Lessons & Carols
A special evening celebrating the coming of Christmas through Scripture and song, followed by a reception with refreshments. All are welcome: all faiths, all ages! Held in December prior to Christmas.
Sacred Concert Series
Collaborative performances of great sacred works of music (such as Handel’s Messiah), featuring both professional and amateur musicians from throughout the Tri-City area. Performances held throughout the year. Please visit our Music page for more information.
Assumption Celebrates Family
(Formerly Mardi Gras)
Dinner, silent auction, games, photo booth, and more to celebrate our parish family and raise funds for Assumption Children’s Faith Formation & Youth Ministry. Usually held the last Saturday before Ash Wednesday.
