All are invited to enjoy this musical presentation of the Christmas story just in time for the holiday. No ticket is required; freewill offerings are welcome.

The concert is presented by Assumption Parish Music Ministry and features chamber orchestra, choir and soloists from throughout the Tri-City area.

Featured soloists include Erin Whitfield: soprano soloist, performer, voice instructor at Saginaw Valley State University, and member of the Saginaw Choral Society; David King: member of Center Stage Chorale and the Camerata Singers at Midland Center for the Arts, also frequently singing with Exultate Deo; Jim Renfer: director of Assumption Parish Music Ministry with years of experience performing as both organist and vocalist and leading church choirs; and Jude Renfer: vocal performer and private music teacher.

Accompanying the singers is Thomas Heidenreich, award-winning organist and director of Music Ministry at First and Second Presbyterian Churches in Saginaw.

The concert is directed by Grace Marra, soprano soloist, private vocal instructor, and director of the Men of Music for the past 31 years.

This is Assumption Parish’s second year performing Messiah. According to Jim Renfer, director of Assumption Parish Music Ministry, this year’s concert will feature several new voices and an added chamber orchestra.

“Thanks to growing collaboration with musical talent in our community, the performance is sure to be more moving than ever,” said Renfer. “We hope you will come enjoy this timeless sacred music and let its comforting message set the tone for your Christmas celebration.”
